In Canada, 83% of residential and 64% of commercial and institutional energy consumption is used for water heating, space heating and cooling. The majority (or 74%) of industrial energy use is used for thermal applications. In all sectors, improvements in thermal energy efficiencies and emission reductions will be vital to achieve Net-Zero targets.
